Frequently Asked Questions

We suggest Students start the Classroom portion of the Course once they receive their Learner’s Permit and then schedule the Driving Lessons so that the last one is done close to the date of their Driving Test.
The Learner’s permit is good for a 2 year period.  Your teen can take their driving test 1 year and 1 day after the permit has been obtained (not before), or turn 18 years of age whichever comes first.

A Learner’s Permit can also be renewed for additional 2 year extensions.

All Teenagers under the age of 18 must take Joshua’s Law.  Joshua’s Law/Driver’s Education – 30 hours of classroom time (5 classes @ 6 hours each) & 6 hours behind the wheel (3 lessons @ 2 hours each). Visit the Classroom calendar to see when classes are held. We conduct driving lessons 7 days each week – you have to call the office to schedule.

Parents must drive their teen 40 hours (outside of the driving school) 6 hours at night. Its good for them to have some driving time before driving with us, however, if you don’t feel comfortable driving with them at first we can drive with them, however, you may need to purchase additional hours.

Students under the age of 18 can take their Driving Test at New London as long as they have taken Joshua’s Law/Driver’s Education (30 hours of classroom & 6 hours of driving lessons).

Anyone over the age of 18 can take their Driving Test at New London as long as they have a valid Learner’s Permit.

Once the course has been completed we will give your a Certificate of Completion, a copy of this certificate should be given to your Insurance company to receive a discount.
